Professor recognised by
Australasian Marketing Academy
The head of The University of Auckland's Department of Marketing has been named a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy (ANZMAC).
The Fellowship recognises members of ANZMAC who have shown outstanding leadership in research, marketing education, and discipline development within their institutions and the Academy. No more than three fellowships are awarded each year.
Professor Peter Danaher has led the Business School's Marketing Department since 2001, during which time he has entrenched its reputation as a leading provider of marketing education.
He has an outstanding research pedigree and his work has been internationally recognised. His research into media exposure distributions, advertising effectiveness, television audience measurement and behaviour, customer satisfaction measurement, forecasting and sample surveys has been published internationally.
Professor Danaher was the ANZMAC Researcher of the Year in 2001 and was a finalist for both the William O'Dell Award and the John Little Award, which recognise outstanding journal articles.
He has also made a major contribution to the marketing discipline through his work on editorial boards of leading international journals.
ANZMAC President Professor Rob Lawson says, "Fellowship of ANZMAC acknowledges members who are held in high esteem by their peers. Fellows have demonstrated exemplary performance in many areas and they epitomise the values and aspirations of the Academy."
