New leadership for Education Forum
The Education Forum is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chair and Deputy Chair - prominent school leaders Byron Bentley and Roger Moses.
Mr Bentley (principal of Macleans College in Auckland) will replace outgoing chair John Morris, who will remain a member of the Education Forum. Mr Moses (headmaster of Wellington College) takes up the newly created position of deputy chair.
Both Mr Bentley and Mr Moses have been long-time members of the Education Forum.
Mr Morris said it was pleasing to see that two noted educational leaders would be continuing the Education Forum's strong tradition as an independent voice on New Zealand education policy issues.
"We welcome Byron and Roger to their respective leadership roles. Their success in education leadership, their ability to get top results and their in-depth knowledge of what works in education will prove invaluable as they guide the Education Forum in its work as a voice for quality, equity and achievement in education," Mr Morris said.
The Education Forum is an education advocacy organisation that works for higher standards and more freedom in education, including: increased parental choice; high quality assessment; more autonomy for schools and tertiary institutions; the acceptance of healthy competition in the education sector; and the development of closer links between education institutions and industry.
