New Scottish Scholarship Opportunity
New Scottish Scholarship Opportunity
Applications are now open for the 2006 Scottish International Scholarship.
The Scholarship will fully fund one New Zealander on a Masters Programme at a Scottish University.
Part of the Scottish Executive’s Fresh Talent initiative, which aims to encourage bright, talented and hard-working individuals to live, work and study in Scotland, the scholarship is particularly targeted to entrepreneurs and leaders in the fields of science, technology, and the arts.
Administered in New Zealand by British Council, applications for the Scottish Scholarship close on March 17 2006. Candidates must be between 25-35 years old, and resident in New Zealand. The scholarship is only available for one year Masters Programmes.
Paula Middleton, Director, British Council New Zealand says, “This scholarship gives an outstanding graduate the chance to gain a higher qualification, while engaging with contemporary UK culture and ideas.”
Karen Williams was the first New Zealand recipient of this scholarship in 2005. She joined 22 scholars from six countries funded under the scheme, and is currently completing a Masters degree in Information Technology at Glasgow University.
