Army Leads the Way at Massey Conference

The New Zealand Army will host a high level leadership conference featuring a number of senior defence personnel alongside international speakers and well known New Zealand sporting personalities.

The “Leadership in Complex Environments” Conference is being held at Massey University’s Palmerston North Campus over the period 24-25 November.

As one New Zealand’s largest organisations that undertake a formal leadership development programme, the Army recognises the value of investigating contemporary approaches to leadership. For this reason some of the world’s premier authorities on leadership theory have been invited to speak alongside several high profile military, sports, business and political leaders from both overseas and within New Zealand.

The new Minister of Defence Hon Phil Goff will address the conference, together with the former Australian Chief of Defence General Peter Cosgrove and Major General Andrew Leslie from Canada who has led NATO forces in Bosnia and Coalition forces in Afghanistan.

The Army recognises the importance of sharing its own experiences, therefore business and academic leaders will attend the conference alongside defence personnel.
