Press Release From Aotearoa Institute On Waitangi Tribunal Hearing Of Urgency Application
Aotearoa Institute’s spokespeople Harold Maniapoto and Tui Adams said that AI was delighted that the Waitangi Tribunal has confirmed that its urgency application for its claim on Te Wananga o Aotearoa will be heard at a judicial conference on the afternoon of 13 October 2005.
“There will be oral submissions from counsel for both sides and the full Board of the Aotearoa Institute Te Kuratini O Nga Waka will attend the proceedings.”
“The judicial conference will be open to the public, and to the media. The Tribunal has asked that members of the media advise the Tribunal if they intend to come, and to make a formal request if they wish to film or record the proceedings.”
“We look forward to the Waitangi Tribunal making a decision on urgency for the Waitangi Tribunal Claim we have filed on the Wananga, and getting on with resolving the Treaty of Waitangi breaches as soon as possible”
