Global Wednesday At The International Travel College

For immediate release

Oh la la! The biggest student event of the year at The International Travel College of New Zealand certainly went off with a truly international theme! From exotic South Africa to colourful Pacifica, ITC students represented the four corners of the globe.

On Wednesday 24th August, the ITC Events Suite was packed with the most amazing costumes, food and table presentations. Each group had been given a country to prepare for and they really did their research – ranging from a Turkish bazaar, Spanish tapas bar, Mexican fiesta and fish and chips from good old Blighty (UK) to traditional kiwi fare, French snails, and even hot dogs from USA.

The judges were extremely impressed overall with the high standard and quality but the winners for Food and Table presentation were Mexico, and team costume went to Turkey.

The final part of the day was the entertainment section and this is truly where everyone excelled themselves – in fact we are thinking of selling the video of the day to television scouts! We had USA line dancing, a very informative and interesting demonstration of the didgeridoo from Australia, flamboyant dancing from Spain and Mexico, a heart-stopping display of karate from Japan – especially the balloon popping and wood breaking skills with feet/fists! But the outstanding can-can and Moulin Rouge performance from the French “boys” were definitely the winners – everything was authentic – from the make-up and wigs down to the under garments!

So, another success story and yet another fun filled event with everyone eagerly awaiting the next fun ITC student event.
