Exam results not far away
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority is this week sending out postcards to all students who sat national school
exams - more than 130 thousand - explaining how they will get their results next month.
In the first instance, school students will receive their results by mail, mid-January. This will be done before the
information is available electronically to spread the load on the NZQA website.
To access results electronically, students will need to go to the NZQA website and enter their national student number
and password, which gives them secure access to their results.
The card being posted now reminds students that if they haven't registered and obtained a password they should register
on the NZQA website at www.nzqa.govt.nz. To do this they will need their NZQA national student number. If students have
lost this they can get it by ringing NZQA on 04 802 3000 during business hours.
Chief Executive Karen Van Rooyen says the Qualifications Authority is trying to ensure that as many students as possible
get their results within a few days of each other.
"This is an anxious time for students, and we hope the information in this card helps them to get their results with as
little stress as possible. Students away from home will be able to use the internet from wherever they are.
"This is the first year in which all year 11, 12 and 13 students are in the new qualifications system, and from here on
people should become more familiar with the way it operates."
