MIT appoints new CEO
Dr Geoffrey Page has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer at Manukau Institute of Technology.
He will take up his appointment on May 17, replacing Dr Jack MacDonald who has served as CEO since 1996.
MIT Council acting chair Margaret Cole says they are looking forward to Dr Page joining MIT.
“Dr Page has many years experience in a wide range of leadership roles as well as the right skills to manage MIT’s growth and success in a rapidly changing tertiary education environment.”
“It is a credit to all involved in the institute that we have attracted someone of his calibre.”
Dr Page is currently Managing Director at ANUTech Pty Ltd, which is the commercial arm of the Australian National University in Canberra.
Prior to this role he was the Chief Executive Officer of Industrial Research Ltd, Director of the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute and a senior lecturer at Massey University.
Dr Page is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Professional Engineers of New Zealand (IPENZ).
He holds a Doctorate of Science from Massey University, a Doctorate of Philosophy from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London University and a degree from the Graduate Royal Institute of Chemistry, United Kingdom.
“I am delighted to be joining a successful and dynamic MIT,” says Dr Page.
“I think Jack MacDonald has done an excellent job and built a good senior team and staff and I am looking forward to joining them in pursuing the aims of MIT.”
