Japanese Agents Visit New Zealand
Seven education agents from Japan are visiting New Zealand during the next two weeks as part of the ongoing marketing
activities organised and promoted jointly by Education New Zealand and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. During their
time here they will be visiting educational institutions in both the North and South Islands.
This visit will build relationships between the agents and participating institutions and allow the agents to see first
hand the quality of education and pastoral care that their clients can expect if they choose to come to New Zealand for
their education.
Japan is a very important market for New Zealand educators. Interest in the visit by Japanese agents has been high and
so 7 agents have come out. They will travel in two independent groups, each spending a week in New Zealand to maximise
coverage. During 2002, 12,895 Japanese students came to New Zealand, making it our third largest market.
This visit is part of a comprehensive series by agents from many of New Zealand’s key education markets during 2003.
With many international factors such as SARS, the ongoing threat of terrorism and the Iraq War having an impact on
international student flows, Education New Zealand is working to ensure that marketing opportunities are available
across a diverse range of markets.
What? Japanese education agents visit to New Zealand
When? 22nd June – 5th July
Who? Seven agents will be coming to NZ in two separate groups.
They will be escorted by Education New Zealand staff whilst here.
Where? The agents will be visiting institutions in the following regions:
Auckland Bay of Plenty Waikato Northland Southland Wellington Christchurch
Taranaki Coromandel
