New Career Colleges' Association Launched
New Career Colleges' Association a welcome boost for
tertiary education
The Career Colleges' Association launched last night in Wellington will bring a welcome boost to the quality of New Zealand tertiary education, according to Education Forum policy adviser Norman LaRocque.
The Association was formed by a group of private training establishments working cooperatively to provide high-quality private tertiary education.
Mr LaRocque said private providers had an important role to play in the tertiary education sector and the association is well placed to become a recognised leader in the sector.
"We join the Associate Education (Tertiary Education) Minister, Steve Maharey, in welcoming this new organisation to the education sector and agree with him that the association's intention to measure and improve student completion and placement rates is welcome.
"It is pleasing to see the private sector working pro-actively on quality issues and displaying leadership in this important area,” Mr LaRocque said.
