"Skilling the Nation" - launch event
The Association of Polytechnics of New Zealand will be launching the Skilling the Nation conference with Steve Maharey, Associate Minister of Education (Tertiary) to members of the business, education and political sectors at:
Tuesday, 16 October 2001 5.30pm to 7.30pm NZ Portrait Gallery, Bowen House Wellington
There has been much discussion on the ideas emerging from the Knowledge Wave conference. Now it is time for each sector in New Zealand to take a leadership role and implement strategies for going forward.
Under the banner of "Skilling the Nation" this year's conference has one clear objective - to deliver strategies on the practical steps needed to ensure New Zealand has the relevant skills mix to participate in and drive forward the economic development of our country.
To focus the debate at the conference, the Association of Polytechnics in New Zealand has developed a set of key propositions to be considered by its members at the conference. These will also be launched at tomorrow's event.
