DHL Express teams up with Rugby World Cup 2019

DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics provider, partners with Rugby World Cup 2019™, Japan as its Official Logistics Partner. The partnership will see DHL again team up with one of the biggest international sporting events, which will take place in host country Japan from 20 September to 02 November 2019.

As part of its partnership, DHL Express is giving New Zealanders the opportunity to win once-in-a-lifetime Rugby World Cup 2019™, Japan experiences through its two digital campaigns.

DHL Express’ first ‘Match Ball Delivery Kid’ competition which concluded earlier in March, announced it will be sending 11-year-old winner Nathan Tofilau to Japan as the official DHL Express NZ Match Ball Delivery Kid for the New Zealand v Italy Rugby World Cup game in Japan. The competition, which saw over 800 nationwide entries, required applicants to submit why they would make the ultimate match ball delivery kid. Selected by DHL Express Ambassador and New Zealand Rugby Legend, Sir John Kirwan, Nathan and his selected guardian will receive tickets to New Zealand v Italy, return flights, accommodation and transfers to Rugby World Cup 2019™, Japan.

Continuing to involve New Zealanders in its partnership, DHL Express’ digital competition, Pass the Parcel, is providing Kiwis another opportunity to win a Rugby World Cup 2019™, Japan experience. Targeting SMEs, the viral Pass the Parcel campaign has returned for a second year after its 2017 success, seeing over 10,000 entries. Running until end of May, the competition mechanic requires participants to enter a unique code, unwrap a layer to receive an instant prize and then pass the parcel on to a friend in business or co-worker to enter the major prize draw to win return flights, accommodation and tickets to Rugby World Cup 2019™, Japan.
