Auckland Rugby League football development officer Mary Passi highlighted changes to the premier grade and increased
interest in the girls' competition.
“It's exciting to have the college competitions back in action," Passi said.
"This year a new 1st XIII Premiership format has been introduced, which will see 10 teams compete this year and drop to
eight in 2020, all with the aim of a more competitive series.
“I’m loving the interest in the girls’ competition as well. We have 10 teams competing this year and we’re hoping to
continue to build on this."
