Sweet Mix Kids drop new single 'Oh No'

Published: Fri 3 May 2019 04:26 PM
DJ/Production duo Sweet Mix Kids have a new single – ‘Oh No’ with one of the most recognisable voices in New Zealand music, Laughton Kora.
‘Oh No’ is a futuristic RnB/Soul cut, with slinking verses and an insistent chorus co-written by Los Angeles singer/songwriter Quinn Devero. The enveloping Sweet Mix Kids production is cut like butter by Laughton Kora’s powerful vocals; which sing of a new love’s excitement, and the anxiety behind whether that love will endure.
The video, directed by Nat Tozer and starring Auckland icon half.queen; is a depiction of the song’s themes as they play out in the mind and dreams of a central powerful heroine, who must decipher and defeat mysterious forces of doubt and negativity to assume her place as the champion of herself. It is part of the official selection in the Music Video category at the NYC Independent Film Festival 2019 in New York.
Written, produced and performed by Sweet Mix Kids, Laughton Kora & Quinn Devero. Mixed by Chris Scott, and mastered by Chris Chetland at KOG Studios.
