Netball Mainland is thrilled to announce Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa as the naming sponsor for the 2019 Zone U15 Netball Championship, in a new partnership with the popular attraction.
Hundreds of young athletes will descend on Nelson Queens Birthday weekend for the competition.
Netball Mainland Development Officer Deb Johnson says teams from all over the Zone will be competing.
“We’re expecting close to 30 teams to take part over the three days of the tournament. That’s about 300 players as well as coaches, parents and supporters. It’s going to be a big weekend!” said Johnson.
The tournament is being held at Saxton Stadium from 1-3 June, 2019.
“We’re excited about providing an opportunity for our region’s best young Netball talent to come together and test themselves amongst their peers. I have no doubt that we will see some future The Good Oil Tactix and Silver Ferns in action.”
Netball Mainland Commerical Manager Emma Hodgkin says she is delighted to have Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa on board as the naming sponsor for tournament to be known as the ‘Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa Mainland U15 Championship.’
“It’s an exciting new partnership with a business which has long supported the local community. We’re all looking forward to the competition, and getting some time afterwards to relax in their famous thermal waters too!”
Krissy Griggs from Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa says it’s great to be able to give something back to a sport which provides so much enjoyment to so many people.
“Many of our team members are courtside every Saturday morning during winter cheering on loved ones. Netball Mainland does an incredible job supporting grass roots sport, providing an opportunity for kiwi youth to have fun, make friends and be active. We couldn’t be bigger fans.”
“It’s a privilege to be able to support the Netball Mainland Zone Under 15 Netball Championship and provide young female athletes with the opportunity to make some great memories” said Griggs.
