Changing The World Through Film

Published: Mon 8 Apr 2019 04:06 PM
The Reel Earth Film Festival is set to wow a wide audience again this year with a brand new selection of award-winning and thought-provoking films. An impressive line up of homegrown and international films will be screened between May 24 - June 7, including Queen’s Birthday weekend, in Palmerston North.
White hot topics include plastic pollution, climate action, food and biodiversity. These issues are boldy balanced with a variety of artful and experiential films that promise to delight the senses.
Reel Earth aims to entertain, educate and empower. Guest speakers, ready to engage in Q & A sessions and audience discussions at each film, include prominent filmmakers and well respected scientists.
Budding and experienced film-makers will be showcasing their skills too. Entires to the Reel Earth Short Film Competition have opened and close on May 10, 2019 across three categories – children, youth and adult. Competition winners will be announced at an awards event during the Reel Earth Film Festival.
Reel Earth is New Zealand’s only film festival that focuses specifically on nature and the environment.
