“Aroha For NZ” is a 24 hour fundraising gaming event kicking off at midday this Saturday 30th March on Twitch.
SkyCity Breakers CEO Matt Walsh and Captain Tom Abercrombie will be at the Let’s Play Live Studios in Auckland this Saturday to start the event. They are joining a host of Twitch and YouTube gamers playing to raise money for those affected by the Christchurch terror attack.
Matt says “We are one hundred percent behind the Aroha for NZ initiative. The Breakers are a diverse and inclusive squad, and feel that much like basketball, gaming is a unifier. We stand united with all players, regardless of race, gender, or religion to support anyone affected by this extraordinary tragedy”
They will be joining local and overseas talent, including Humphrey Hanley (No Hands No Excuses), Kahu Bennett (Carwho), Jessie James (thegeekgg) who hosts Australia’s The Next Gamer, and Australian “Hackathon Queen” Michelle Mannering (Mishmanners).
The full schedule for the event has been released and can be found on the official website: arohafornz.org
100% of the proceeds will go to Victim Support’s official Christchurch Shooting Victims fund: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/christchurch-shooting-victims-fund
You can follow Aroha For NZ on Twitter, facebook, Instagram and Twitch: @arohafornz.
