THE ROYAL EASTER SHOW RETURNS FOR 2019 WITH A STAR-STUDDED LINE-UP OF NZ ENTERTAINMENT AND NEW A ATTRACTIONS
Coinciding with school holidays, this year’s event brings a massive line-up of entertainment, circus acts, FMX shows,
Looney Tunes, carnival rides, sideshows, exhibits, plus an A Show that has been running for more than 175 years. The Royal Easter Show has a special place in the hearts and minds
of many New Zealanders.
The main stage will be jam-packed with all types of exciting FREE entertainment, for the entire family, with world-class
acts from TIKI TAANE, JASON KERRISON and LAUGHTON KORA.
Mahons Amusements will be returning and bringing their exhilarating rides to the Royal Easter Show, including rides for
the whole family and the little ones.
An essential feature of the Royal Easter Show, the celebrated Zirka Circus returns with a brand new, never before seen
in New Zealand act that will have the audience at the edge of their seats. Their death-defying feats of skill and
strength must be seen to be believed.
Freestyle New Zealand returns with a show that is sure to astound, demonstrating some of the most dangerous and
difficult tricks in FMX sport, bringing a high adrenaline and edge of your seat experience.
And stick around for the free fireworks display, lighting up the sky above the ASB Showgrounds Friday, Saturday and
Sunday evening’s blasting off at 9pm.

ENTERTAINMENT - ROYAL EASTER SHOW MUSIC TALENT
The star-studded line-up of possibly the country’s most well-known and diverse artists, TIKI TAANE, JASON KERRISON and LAUGHTON KORA will take the stage at this year’s Royal Easter Show.
Taking the stage on Friday 19th April from 8.15pm for a 60-minute performance, Tiki Taane’s extraordinary ability to rock the mic as a solo acoustic performer is something to be experienced first-hand.
Jason Kerrison has spent many years at the top of the NZ Music Scene with his band Opshop, picking up numerous NZ Music Awards along
the way including the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll Award. Now concentrating on his solo career Jason has proven to be
an exciting New Zealand artist and not to be missed on Saturday 20th April from 8pm for a 60-minute performance.
Since the successful launch of Kora, with his brothers, and their world tour between 2003-2012, Laughton Kora has been focusing on forging his solo career. A not to be missed solo at the Royal Easter Show on Sunday 21st April.

Looney Tunes: Laugh along and dance along with the LOONEY TUNES gang - Bugs Bunny, Tweety and Sylvester - as they sing up a whack of
wacky chaos in a show packed with Looney surprises!
Zirka Circus presents ‘Cirque Grande’ a brand-new circus on its very first tour in New Zealand. The all new circus show presents
world-class acts from around the globe bringing a fresh and exciting new experience.
Featuring special guest, African acrobats, who will take your breath away with their gravity-defying performances. Their
ability to entertain goes far beyond anything you have ever seen before, leaving the entire family amazed.
The GRANDE finale will leave everyone on the edge of their seat’s and gasping as 5 motorbike stunt riders perform in the
WORLD’S BIGGEST TOURING GLOBE OF DEATH.
Some of the other unique acts include hoop diving, human pyramids, the teeterboard and much, much more. The 2-hour
international performance is a whole lot of fun and entertainment for ALL AGES, from 2 to 102.
FMX: Freestyle New Zealand is New Zealand’s No1 Professional and most successful FMX Team. After a 2-year hiatus from the
Easter Show, Freestyle New Zealand returns to the ASB
Showgrounds with a show that is sure to astound you, with not one, but two backflip riders preforming tricks upside
town.
The past 7 years, Freestyle New Zealand has been the dominant name in the Freestyle Motocross scene. They continue to
bring fans and event promoter’s high adrenaline and edge of your seat FMX shows throughout the country. Heading back to
the Easter Show with a show that is sure to impress. The team will be taking to the air to deify the laws of gravity and
show what can be done with a 100kg motorcycle 3 stories high in the air.
Freestyle New Zealand will be demonstrating some of the most dangerous and difficult tricks in the FMX sport including
the famous backflip, with backflip tricks, while their professional M/C will take you through the step-by-step details
of these amazing tricks and bring the atmosphere alive. This is a show that is sure not to be miss.
Strong Man: New Zealand’s strongest Man Competition has been held annually for over 20 years and it’s the toughest strength
competition in the country. With eight events over two days testing all aspects of strength and stamina from pulling
14-tonne trucks to carrying a 160kg anvil for maximum distance, this event is not for the faint hearted. Some of the
events are from classic old-time strength tests like the farmers walk, stone lifting and the apollon axle lift, however
others like the truck pull and 300kg tyre flip are from the modern era. The biggest and strongest athletes from all
around New Zealand attend this event with the tallest contestant being 2.0m, the heaviest being 215kg.
CONCERT AMONGST THE ARTS Presented by the Royal Easter Show, 2019. Concert amongst the arts will be held on Saturday
20th April, during the weekend of the Royal Easter Show, 2019.
The well-known and prestigious Concert Amongst the Arts returns with internationally recognised violinist / fiddler MARIAN BURNS and Stunning Classical Crossover singer REBECCA
NELSON as guest artists, along with the ever-popular Heartstrings, and of course, ROBYN SUTHERLAND, with her golden
harp.
Fiddling her way across the world at 100 miles an hour, from the top of the Eiffel Tower to the bottom of the Grand
Canyon with the Blarney Castle and the Grand Ole Opry in between, Marian Burns MNZM has been taking the world by storm with her exuberance and passion for music.
Rebecca Nelson holds the rank of Able Musician and has had the honour and privilege of singing at centenary commemorations in
Gallipoli, The Somme and Passchendaele. In 2018, she was invited to perform for His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales,
Prince Charles and guests from across The Royal Navy for a shipmate’s reunion at Highgrove House.
Robyn Sutherland is a harp player and singer. She has been likened to, Enya, Loreena McKennit and Eva Cassidy and her repertoire is
coloured by her love of Celtic song, Medieval and Early music. Robyn also writes her own songs and instrumentals. She
plays a 30 string Camac DHC gold carbon fibre harp, specially made for her in France.
