Wellington Repertory Theatre Kicks Off An Exciting New Season
Wellington Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce an exciting line-up of four plays covering a wide range of genres - including comedy, drama, and musicals - that promise to entertain, enlighten, and amuse. Our 2019 season will feature Service Please!, written by New Zealand playwright Cameron Lines.
“The objective behind our 2019 season is to expand our offering to a broader range of Wellingtonians. It’s the first time in over a decade that we’ve produced four shows, and the first time we will be performing at the Hannah,” says Oliver Mander, Wellington Repertory’s President. “2019 marks a year of change for us - new venues, more shows, and a new website are the first steps in preparing Wellington Repertory for its next century of entertainment.”
The Royal Hunt of the Sun (by Peter Shaffer), Apr 3 -13
Threepenny Opera (by Bertolt Brecht), Jun 22 – 29
Black Comedy (by Peter Shaffer) and Service Please! (by Cameron Lines), Jul 31 - Aug 10
First Date (by Austin Winsberg), Nov 20 - 30
Wellington Repertory will stage Brecht's Threepenny Opera at the Hannah Playhouse - the first time it has used this venue. All other shows will be performed at the Gryphon Theatre.
Tickets are on sale now at www.wellingtonrepertory.org.nz.
