FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New year, new look!
Are you wanting ideas on how to get active? Have you made a New Year’s resolution which involves improving your health and fitness? Or maybe this year you’d like to get more involved in sport and your community – either through participation, volunteering, or in governance. Whatever your focus is for 2019, Sport Wellington’s new website, www.sportwellington.org.nz can help.
There’s something for everyone. From how to get involved in our programmes, to information about KiwiSport funding, leadership and governance, sport development, and sport for schools, Sport Wellington’s new website is an extensive resource sitting just at your fingertips.
Whether it’s nutrition advice, games and activities, what’s on for under 5s, or the directory of clubs and activity providers, the new website should be your go-to place to find information on the sport and active recreation sector in our region. Schools, teachers, clubs, RSOs, athletes, coaches, parents and community groups – whoever you are, whatever your involvement, check it out.
The website also comes with a new self-referral feature for our Green Prescription Pre-school Active Families and Maternity GRx programmes. With participants normally only referred by their GP, now interested families and pregnant women can complete a self-referral form on the Active Health & Wellness page. (These are free programmes to improve health and wellbeing through physical activity/nutrition support. They help individuals to make sustainable, healthy behaviour changes by enhancing physical, mental and social wellbeing.)
“We encourage people to visit www.sportwellington.org.nz and use the star rating at the bottom of each page to rate their experience and provide us with feedback,”said Kirsten Kilmister, Commercial Development and Marketing Manager, Sport Wellington. “Expanding on the content is still ongoing, but we’re pleased to be starting the year with a fresh, new site which we feel is of service to our community and supports the development of a healthy, active region.”
The completely rebuilt and refreshed site strengthens Sport Wellington’s commitment to ‘supporting a healthy, active region’, all while containing updated information in an easier to navigate format. The website’s fresh look serves to inspire, educate, and inform the user with a new user-friendly and mobile responsive design.
“So, check it out and let us know what you think – there’s a star rating at the bottom of every page!”
