In yet another unique commercial relationship for netball, Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty has partnered with local venue,
Hampton Downs Motorsport Park and Events Centre, to support community netball.
The partnership will see Hampton Downs become the Official Sponsor of Community Netball and the Official Corporate
Hospitality Partner of the Splice Construction Magic. On the community netball side, Hampton Downs will be providing
“experience vouchers” to the local Netball Centres to use as ‘Player of the Day’ or ‘Team of the Day’ prizes. In the
Splice Construction Magic sphere, Hampton Downs will help dress the game venues and enhance the game day experience for
supporters and corporate hospitality guests.
“Hampton Downs is really proud to have become a community netball partner with the Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone,”
says Hampton Downs Commercial Manager, Mike Marsden.
“We know the key role netball plays in the communities across the region which we are a part of. It involves the whole
family and it’s great to be able support the biggest female sport in the region and the country.
Recent developments at Hampton Downs, which include the opening of a new café and the launch of new family friendly
initiatives, have majorly increased its appeal as a weekend destination for locals looking for something unique and
different to do.
“This sponsorship will help drive some key messaging around what we offer Waikato families,” Says Marsden.
“We will also be emphasising that we are a Waikato business, we are proud of it and want the people of Waikato to
recognise this.”
Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Chief Executive, Rohan West sees the partnership as a fantastic opportunity for netball
across our Zone.
“It’s wonderful that another international brand recognises the power of women in sport and is aligning themselves with
New Zealand’s largest and most popular female sport,” he says. “We are working with Hampton Downs on some innovative
activations for our Splice Construction Magic home games. However, most importantly we are going to be able to give some
tremendous value to our young netballers and our local Netball Centres”.
