Press Release: Glitter of Celebrants
Stories by Bianca
Following the success of their Pride Parade Wedding in 2018, the nationwide network of celebrants, the Glitter Squad, have launched their second unique competition for a couple to get married at the 2019 Auckland Pride Parade - on a float in front of thousands. Last year the Glitter Squad married Sinead and Victoria in the first wedding of its kind in New Zealand.
Couples are also encouraged to enter if they would like to renew their vows at the Parade, or even plan a proposal to their significant other during the culmination event of the Festival. The Parade will take place on February 16th 2019 on Auckland's Ponsonby Road.
In 2017 members of the Glitter Squad walked in the parade as the first group of celebrants actively taking part. In 2018 they stepped it up by inviting couples to apply to win a wedding that would legally take place along the parade route ending at Western Park. This carnival of diversity and personal expression features over 50 entries with hundreds of participants.
This year couples of all kinds are invited to enter and celebrate their love in the 2018 event. Imagine a live proposal with a crowd of thousands partying alongside them, or a special renewal of vows, or a wedding live streamed to the world.
The prize includes full photography and videography, flowers, hair and makeup, styling, accommodation in Auckland City; and of course a free celebrant and ceremony from one of the Glitter Squad. More prizes to be announced.
Couples can enter through the entry form on their website or via social media using the following links;
