Season Two of Married at First Sight NZ Concludes,
The Edge’s Dom Harvey is Honoured with Local Hero Award
Season two of Married at First Sight NZ concluded last night with 135,108 viewers tuning in to the finale amongst 25-54s from 7.30pm-8.30pm. This wrapped up
another successful season of the hit social experiment, with a total of 845,600 viewers in the commercially important
25-54 demographic tuning in throughout the season and averaging an incredible 24.0% audience share and 7.5 rating point.
This week on ThreeNow, Married at First Sight NZ led the weekly top 10, with VOD up 18% year-on-year, and more impressively, live streams were up 85% year-on-year.
Last week also saw Three win the night on Monday amongst 25-54s with an overall share of 25.2%. Timeslot wins from Married at First Sight NZ (27.2% share, 8.0 rating) as well as 9-1-1 (20.2% share, 4.5 rating) and All New Beach Cops (12.0% share, 1.9 rating) contributed to the night’s win, while The Project also bet Seven Sharp with a 18.3% share and 4.4 rating.
On Tuesday, Married at First Sight NZ yet again won it’s timeslot with a 27.6% share and 7.9 rating, compared to TVNZ’s The Great Kiwi Bake Off’s 25.1% share and 6.1 rating. While the shows were head-to-head, Married dominated the slot with a total viewership of 142,982 people, compared to Bake Off’s 112,310 viewers (25-54).
Wednesday had some successful results with The Project winning the current affairs audience (21.8% share, 5.8 rating) and Grand Designs New Zealand* winning its timeslot (24.1% share, 6.6 rating).
Tonight, Australian Ninja Warrior returns for its second season. Tune in as the best athletes from across the ditch tackle the toughest obstacle course in
the world, in the hopes of becoming Australia’s first ever Ninja Warrior and winning $200,000. Plus, the Academy
Award-winning documentary Searching for Sugar Man airs this Saturday on Three. The doco-film follows two South African fans as they set out to discover what happened to
their former musical hero, Rodriguez - a 70s rock icon who seemingly disappeared from existence.

Friday: The AM Show (34.0% share, 2.2 rating), 7 Days* (19.1% share, 4.9 rating),
Sunday: Passengers (27.7% share, 6.4 rating), Blue Bloods (25.2% share, 2.1 rating).
MediaWorks have five finalists in the coveted Woman’s Day TV Personality of the Year award at this year’s NZ TV Awards.
Patrick Gower (Newshub), Samantha Hayes (Newshub, Dancing with the Stars NZ), Dai Henwood (Dancing with the Stars NZ, 7 Days*), Kanoa Lloyd (The Project) and Rose Matafeo (Funny Girls*) have all been nominated for the award and voting is now open
In radio, Dom Harvey has been honoured with a Kiwibank Local Hero Award. The Edge Breakfast host selflessly put his body
on the line in August to raise funds for three-year-old Ka’iulani Forbes, who is fighting a rare form of cancer. Dom ran
five marathons in five days, raising over $230,000 at the time, and the Forbes family decided to nominate Dom for the
award. The local hero award recognises a person whose selflessness and determination has made a difference in the
community, and we warmly congratulate Dom and send our best wishes to the Forbes family.
Finally, distinguished radio broadcaster Paul Flynn (Flynny) will be joining More FM Drive, New Zealand’s number one
drive show, from July 2019. Paul will be joining hosts Jason Gunn and Jay-Jay Feeney in an exciting move for the
network. Further details regarding the new show will be released in 2019.
