NBL continue partnership

The National Basketball League is pleased to announce Europcar Australia and New Zealand will become the official partner for NBL Referees in the 2018-19 season.

Being the official car rental partner of the NBL since it was relaunched in 2015, Europcar will expand its partnership with all games to feature Europcar referees wearing distinctive Europcar green shirts.

Europcar and the NBL will also provide fans with weekly content featuring the Head of NBL Referees Scott Butler explaining any contentious decisions from the previous round.

NBL Chief Executive Jeremy Loeliger said: “Europcar is a great supporter of the NBL and we welcome their commitment to become the official partner of our referees who are such an important part of our sport.

“With its strong presence throughout Australia and New Zealand, Europcar will also help us communicate to local audiences, which is critical to attracting new fans to our great game.

“This is a very exciting time for Australasian basketball. Later this year five NBL teams will travel to the US to play NBA teams as part of its preseason ahead of what will be one of the biggest NBL seasons yet.”

Europcar Head of Marketing Ionie Felmingham said: “We’re delighted to expand our partnership with the NBL during what is a very exciting growth phase for the sport here in Australia and New Zealand.

“We’ve worked directly with the NBL for a number of years now and have seen the sport grow in popularity exponentially,” she said.

“This renewed partnership with the NBL aligns with the Europcar’s vision of ‘getting more people to games, more often’. This is not only good for the league but good for the continued growth of the sport across every level.”

The 2018-19 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season tips off on October 11.
