Three Wins the Night Three Times Last Week
Three has taken out a trio of overall night wins in the past week, winning on Monday (26.0% audience share), Tuesday (25.0% audience share) and Sunday (25.7% audience share) evenings amongst the commercially important 25-54 demographic. Three’s unshakable local lineup on Monday night saw The Block NZ win its timeslot with a mammoth 32.9% share and 9.5 rating point, followed by Westside* with a 23.6% share and 7.1 rating.
Both shows are also excelling digitally with The Block NZ taking out the top spot on ThreeNow since the show’s premiere nine weeks ago, and its behemoth performance shows no signs of slowing down. The Block NZ's VOD streams also are up 38% year-on-year and live streams up 69% year-on-year.
The fourth season of Westside* has set a performance record on ThreeNow with VOD streams up 15% on the record set by last year’s third season. Live streams are also up 66% compared to last year, and across the season it has been the second-highest ranking show on ThreeNow, behind The Block NZ.
Don’t miss the season finale of Westside* tonight as Cheryl Miller and Wolfgang West prepare to get hitched in a 1980s Westie wedding that will go down in history.
Other wins for the week included:

Tuesday: The Block NZ (31.7% share, 10.3 rating), NCIS (20.7% share, 6.0 rating), Valor (13.2% share, 2.4 rating),

In a highly anticipated announcement last week, Three has now revealed the first four households of the local version of UK smash-hit Gogglebox. Golden oldies Maureen, Myrtle and Sybil, Hilz and Mary, best mates Andy and Hamo, and the Mizsey family have all been confirmed as the first bunch of TV’s most ordinary stars. Narrated by Sharyn Casey, Gogglebox NZ will premiere on Wednesday, September 19th at 8.30pm on Three and will showcase 10 ordinary Kiwi households, capturing their laughs, cries and cringes as they watch a selection of telly from the week gone by. Get to know the first four households here.
Tickets are now on sale for the biggest night in New Zealand music, which is to be broadcast live on Three. The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards will take place at Spark Arena on Thursday, November 15th, with The Project’s Kanoa Lloyd joining acclaimed musician Stan Walker as host.
In radio, The Rock 1500 countdown is proving to be a record-breaking promotion for the station, which is New Zealand’s number one station for males 25-54**. Entries in this years voting has now hit over 650,000 combined votes from more than 50,000 voters, including nearly 4000 hand written votes. Stay tuned to The Rock to win tickets to the strictly limited Rock 1500 concert, headlined by local reunited rockers Blindspott.
On Friday night, George FM’s inaugural Georgies were held, presented by Jägermeister, to celebrate various music and lifestyle award winners as voted by listeners. The late Johnny Danger, who died in April, was honoured with the
Social Media Award, winning the award for the second year in a row, and the trophy was accepted by his mother. The award will now be known as the Johnny Danger Social Media Award, a tribute to the long-standing connection he had with George FM listeners who loved his social media stunts and comedy.
