60,000 children can’t be wrong!
Back by popular demand, Sydney-based award-winning New Zealand author Avril McDonald has released her latest beautiful book, The Purrfect Pawse, to help cultivate emotional wellbeing in children.
The book uses rhythm, rhyme and repetition to show children how to relax and unwind through a series of simple stretches with Catreen the Cat. Its beautiful verse brings to life imagery that connects them with the wonders of nature and the gentle stretching sequence helps children learn to self-regulate their emotions.
The book also features the enchanting poem ‘Stars in the Night’, in which Wolfgang the wolf takes children on a magical starry journey into their minds to think about all of the people, things and places they love, stir them around in a cup and drink them up like hot chocolate. Stars in the Night not only warms children’s hearts but also helps them get into a powerful, positive state of mind.
Avril says: “We have now sold in excess of 35,000 copies of the first five Feel Brave books (which are being translated into many languages including Chinese), and the 60,000 children around the world currently participating in the free Feel Brave emotional well-being programme for schools are hungry for more books! I’m delighted to continue to bring new stories and strategies to children that can help them manage tough emotions and reach their potential and to see so many schools enjoying the simple and fun wellbeing programme.”
Produced by UK-based publishers Crown House Publishing, The Purrfect Pawseis now available to purchase from all booksellers.
