Up 18-4 at the break, the Tigers went on with it in the second, benefiting from strong go forward from props David Bhana and Matt Tafutu. The result means Pt Chevalier fall two points back from competition leaders Glenora.

Glenora 24 Howick 0

Manukau 1 Manurewa 44
Manurewa ran out comfortable winners at Moyle Park, setting up the perfect celebration for club junior Khan Areaiiti’s 50th premier game. Devin Wilson-Connal, Damian Mataroa and Sydnei Samiu Latu all registered hat-tricks for the Marlins. Manukau kicked a field goal in the dying stages of an otherwise unhappy day at the office.

Franklin 28 Bay Roskill 40
Franklin flew out of the gates to lead 18-14 at half-time against the undefeated Vikings, but were run down in the second. A 15-minute blitz in the second period saw Bay Roskill pull away on the scoreboard, with Vikings centre Jerome Vogel scoring a hat-trick across the 80 minutes.

Waitemata 18 Otara 16
Waitemata edged past Otara to continue their climb up the second division ladder, with two second-half tries proving enough for the west Aucklanders. The victory ensures the Seagulls sit on the cusp of a play-off position.

Northern 72 Papatoetoe 22
Northern Brothers made light work of Papatoetoe, turning a 44-12 half-time lead into a 50-point victory. Roydon Campbell went over for three tries in the win, which keeps Northern firmly in the hunt for a top-eight finish.
