Calling all people aged seven and up! Whether you dream of being a ninja turtle, care bear, steam punk fashionista or helium-inflatable wrangler, there’s sure to be a place to showcase your talents in the 2018 Farmers Santa Parade.
With organisers looking to harness the creativity of up to 1000 participants, the net is cast wide to bring together a stunning posse of talent to march in what is the biggest Santa Parade that NZ has to offer.
“Now is the time to apply to be part of the biggest Christmas party in town. We’re so excited to gather together the amazing people who will bring the parade to life" says Ronelle Thompson, Costume Room Manager. July school holidays is the time that the parade costume department start fitting the crew in costumes they won’t get to wear until the big day – Sunday 25th November 2018 (rain date 2nd of December).
Being involved in this iconic community event is a rewarding experience bringing FREE family entertainment to hundreds of thousands of people that attend the parade each year. If dressing up isn’t your thing but you’d still like to be involved, there’s also places for crew to steer helium inflatables and carry banners in the trek around Auckland’s central city.
If you haven’t got on board before, this is the year to do it as the Farmers Santa Paradecelebrates its 85-year anniversary. To commemorate this landmark year, there will be some extra special initiatives that will make participants proud to be involved in this much-loved Auckland event. Watch this space…
Applying is easy. Simply visit santaparade.co.nz, fill in the online form and the organisers will be in touch.
