Award Winning Artist to present one-night exhibition

Award Winning New Zealand Artist to present one-night exhibition in Hamilton.
Hamilton, Waikato - The University of Waikato is delighted to present in collaboration with Award Winning Artist Yaniv Janson, an art for charity event supporting Epilepsy New Zealand. The exhibition will take place on 28 May at the Waikato Museum.

The event “One-Night (Art) Stand” will be hosted at the foyer of the Waikato Museum in Hamilton on Monday, 28 May and will feature an exhibition of five pieces from Yaniv Janson’s previous works alongside a curated selection of art students’ pieces. The exposition of these pieces aims to raise awareness and funds for the charity Epilepsy New Zealand.

“We are pleased that University of Waikato students are showing support for Epilepsy New Zealand. Featuring Janis as the main artist in their Art Exhibition is a double bonus for us. As well as raising funds for our cause, it helps to showcase that Kiwis who live with epilepsy can achieve great things beyond the condition” said Graeme Ambler, CEO for Epilepsy New Zealand.”

The event comes in anticipation to Yaniv Janson’s exhibition for the UN’s annual meeting for the rights for people with disabilities. The event will provide insight into Janson’s beginnings that led to him achieving his dream of exhibiting at the UN headquarters in New York.

About Yaniv Janson:

Yaniv Janson is a raglan-based artist who lives with autism and epilepsy that has won over 18 awards, participated in over 40 exhibitions and sold over 160 paintings. He has also been a finalist for the National Contemporary Arts Award, the National Youth Art Awards and Wallace Art Award - New Zealand's biggest art competition.

Epilepsy New Zealand is a registered charity formed in 1956 to support Kiwis living with epilepsy. The organisation makes a difference to those living with epilepsy by providing education and support to individuals and their families to assist towards achieving self management of their condition whilst at the same time raising public awareness.
