Rd 4 SAS Fox Memorial Premiership preview
Staring down the barrel of a winless opening month of the SAS Fox Memorial Premiership, Papakura head away to face Northcote this Saturday, desperate for the two competition points.
After being denied by a last-minute field goal last week in an 11-10 defeat to Pt Chevalier, Papakura play a Tigers side who sit on a one win, two loss record heading into Round 4.
The clash will serve as the feature match of the Auckland Rugby League’s first livestream double-header day for 2018, with Crown Lift Trucks Sharman Cup sides Ponsonby and Manurewa to play the curtain-raiser.

In central Auckland, the unbeaten Mt Albert Lions and Howick Hornets meet at Fowlds Park, in a re-match of last year’s minor semi-final won by Howick.
Newly-promoted Otahuhu will face their biggest test since returning to the first division, taking on the undefeated Pt Chevalier Pirates, while the Richmond Bulldogs go searching for their first win of the year against Mangere East in Grey Lynn.
Glenora host the Marist Saints to complete the round.

Rd 2 Crown Lift Trucks Sharman Cup preview
Ponsonby and Manurewa headline week two of the Crown Lift Trucks Sharman Cup, with the clash of the second division heavyweights to be streamed live and free onaucklandleague.co.nz.
After suffering an opening-round defeat to the Otara Scorpions, Ponsonby brace for another bruising meeting with a southern opponent, while Manurewa will be looking to bounce back from a shock 16-16 draw with competition newcomers the Franklin Storm.

The newly-formed Northern Brothers side (comprised of players from the East Coast Bays and Glenfield clubs) will see their first action of the year after having the bye in week one, travelling to take on 2017 runners-up Bay Roskill, while convincing Round 1 winners, New Lynn, host Hibiscus Coast.
Ellerslie play Otara at the Ellerslie Domain, while Franklin take on the Papatoetoe Panthers in their first ever away game at Premiership level.

Rd 2 Farrelly Photos Women’s competition (grading) preview
Seven months on from their Grand Final defeat the hands of Manurewa, Richmond go searching for redemption when they travel across to Mountfort Park to face the Marlins in Round 2 of grading for the Farrelly Photos Women’s competition.
Big winners in the opening week, Manurewa will be looking to build momentum against the Roses, who were upset 26-16 by competition newcomers, Mt Albert, to open the new campaign last week.
In other games, Mt Albert head out west to take on the Waitemata Seagulls, who had the bye in Round 1, while Te Atatu host Mangere East and Ponsonby play Otahuhu at Victoria Park.
