First to Win And First Out, the Surprise Blindside Josefien Didn’t See Coming
The cut-throat game of Survivor New Zealand has well and truly begun, with castaways eliminating one of the strongest players in the competition right off the bat tonight.
Josefien Maasdam, the youngest female contestant from Blenheim, became the game’s first blindside, where six out of the nine votes at Tribal Council went her way. Meaning, she was voted out by the very team she had handpicked after winning the game’s first Reward Challenge.
Looking back on her shock exit Jose said, “to say my elimination was ruthlessly unexpected is the understatement of the century. I thought I understood the intricacies of the game and that my performance would keep me safe at least at the start, but my tribe had a different plan in mind.”
This season’s castaways are already proving they’re more brutal than the last with strategic gameplay and punches already thrown, showing everyone is out to fight for the $250K on the line.
