The Awards recognise achievements by New Zealanders, both amateur and professional, in the science fiction, fantasy and horror genres.
This year voting took place at Conclave 3, the 39th National Science Fiction convention held in Auckland over Easter, Voting was open to members of SFFANZ (the Science Fiction and Fantasy Association of New Zealand) and the convention.
SFFANZ president Norman Cates said “We are always delighted to be able to highlight works by New Zealanders. We're grateful and humbled by the number of nominations we get, and then the enthusiasm everyone has for the awards is very gratifying.
