Silver Ferns named to take on Jamaica in Taini Jamison Trophy Final
Media Update
Saturday 24 March
The Silver Ferns have made one change for the Taini Jamison Trophy final when they will look for redemption against the Jamaica Sunshine Girls.
Wing defence Claire Kersten comes back into the 12 to replace Kayla Cullen who will be rested in the Silver Ferns final Test.
Cullen, who was initially expected to miss the entire Taini Jamison Trophy series, played three quarters in the win over Fiji Pearls on Friday night but the Silver Ferns’ medical team have opted to rest the mid-courter for this match.
Kersten has had plenty of court time during the four-day series at wing defence and is expected to seamlessly slot back into the 12.
The Silver Ferns again got much of their team on court in the 88-27 win over Fiji to set up a rematch against Jamaica in today’s final.
Jamaica finished preliminary play in the top spot after going unbeaten which included an eight-goal win over the Silver Ferns on Thursday night.
The Malawi Queens and Fiji Pearls will meet in the play-off for third and fourth at 2.10pm while the Silver Ferns and Jamaica play at 4.10pm.
