Firepower bolsters Aces middle order
Mark Chapman and Glenn Phillips return to the Auckland Aces squad ahead of their Round Nine Plunket Shield fixture against the Otago Volts at University Oval, Dunedin.
The pair missed the Aces last match after turning out for the New Zealand XI in Hamilton.
Young quicks Jamie Brown and Ben Lister also return to the fold after being rested against Canterbury.
“Chappy and GP offer us plenty with the bat and are a couple of handy options with the ball also,” says Aces Captain Michael Guptill-Bunce.
“It’s great to have Browny and Ben back with us, they are two quality quicks and have been in top form for us this back half of the season,” he says.
Coach Mark O’Donnell says his side have trained well and are hungry for more Plunket Shield success.
“We can’t control what’s ahead of us on the table. All we can do is go down to Dunedin and play attacking, hard cricket and let other results take care of themselves,” O’Donnell says.
The Aces take on the Otago Volts this Sunday, first ball 11:00am.
