World First Partnership Between Hobbiton™ Movie Set And WBoP Magic
In a first of its kind commercial relationship for professional Netball in New Zealand, Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty have partnered with world famous Hobbiton Movie Set, for a match day sponsorship and promotional partnership with the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic Netball team.
Hobbiton Movie Set will be the match day sponsor of the WBOP Magic’s Wednesday 27 June home game against the SKYCITY Mystics, at Claudelands Arena, Hamilton. The sponsorship will see a wide range of pre-game, in-game and post-game activities, including dressing of Claudelands Arena in a Middle-earth theme, free passes to Hobbiton Movie Set for supporters, and for the first time in New Zealand professional Netball history, a unique one-off match dress in a Hobbiton Movie Set design.
As one of the largest tourism attractions in New Zealand, Hobbiton is viewing the partnership as a key way to connect and interact with the Waikato and Bay of Plenty public.
Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Chief Executive, Rohan West, commented “To say we are both delighted and excited to welcome Hobbiton Movie Set as a match day sponsor of the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic is a bit of an understatement. Hobbiton will bring a significant level of brand weight and imagination to the WBOP Magic match on 27 June. The game against the SKYCITY Mystics at Claudelands Arena will be a special night, one which supporters will want to be at. There will be a lot of supporter engagement in the lead up to and in the game, itself. We’ve just signed off on a special, one-off game dress which will break the mould for ANZ Premiership teams. We can’t wait to get started with Hobbiton Movie Set.”
Hobbiton Tours Managing Director, Russell Alexander, added “All of us at Hobbiton Movie Set are extremely excited to be working with the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic Netball team. The WBOP Magic are an important part of the Waikato & Bay of Plenty regions, so the partnership is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with our local community. The special one–off Hobbiton Movie Set match dress looks fantastic and we hope everybody comes along to support the team on match day. Here’s to a great 2018 season and a partnership sure to create a bit of Middle-earth Magic.”
