Twinkle comes to town for the school holidays.
The latest production from Little Dog Barking Theatre is coming to a theatre near you during these April School
Holidays.
Twinkle is a small girl with a very big imagination. When her electronic device breaks down she is left at a loose end.
What should a girl do? How do you stop yourself from being bored. She plays with her toy Dino-Dragon. That’s boring as
well!
That’s when Twinkle’s imagination kicks in - she watches the moon rise, why can’t she rise into the air like the moon.
She tells Dino-Dragon that is where she is going to go. She tries jumping, and then tries climbing a ladder, but there
is no way she can reach that moon.
It’s a different story when she goes to sleep. She dreams she goes to the moon, flies in amongst the stars and planets,
landing on one she meets a strange creature or maybe he is not so strange?
A wonderful fantasy for small children , their parents and grandparents.
Suitable for all children 2 years – 8 years.
Performed by Kenny King and Amy Atkins using some beautiful puppetry with original music composed by Stephen Gallagher.
Kenny is an award winning puppeteer and actor. Trained at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School, Kenny has been a professional
performer for over 15 years. He began his puppetry career at Capital E National Theatre for Children under the tutelage
of Peter Wilson. They have enjoyed a fruitful professional relationship ever since. In 2010 Kenny won the inaugural
Chapman Tripp Critics Choice Award for his puppetry in Capital E’s “End Game”.
Amy is an actress, Speech and Drama Teacher, performance poet, and children’s playwright. While studying a Bachelor of
Arts in English and Theatre at Massey, Amy taught Speech and Drama for Tall Poppies Collective for three years. She has
performed extensively throughout the Manawatu some of the shows include, Centrepoint Theatre’s Lord of the Flies, Angie
Farrow’s Breaking New, and Massey University’s Cloud Nine.
A must see for the school holidays in April 2018.
