ORDINARY WOMEN WHO DO EXTRAORDINARY THINGS
25TH MARCH 4PM, THE SCRUFFY BUNNY IMPROV THEATRE, THE COURTYARD
Last Sunday of the month, The Scruffy Bunny Improv Theatre, The Courtyard, 100 Courtenay Place, 4pm. Admission $10
The Scruffy Bunny Improv Theatre hosts storytelling shows monthly, the next show is Sunday 25th March at 4pm.
Janet Dougherty is coming from Whangarei to bring to life the tale of the first Registered Nurse in the World – the story of her Great Great Aunt Ellen from New Zealand! She also shares remarkable stories from Ivy Robieson, her Great Grandmother. Ivy’s story includes life and work in the challenges of a gold mining town on the Westcoast as a young woman in the early 1900s.
Janet Dougherty, author, experiential game creator, and former nurse and healthcare business entrepreneur, has explored her family history to bring to life two tales of ordinary New Zealand women in extraordinary tales. In character and in costume, Janet brings us edutainment and insight into our and her New Zealand ancestors.
Scruffy Bunny Improv Theatre and Story & Laughter are proud to present these insights into early settlers lives with such a lively, interpretive teller, in the month of International Women’s Day.
Janet says, “I’m so looking forward to meeting a Wellington audience and sharing historical herstories of two wonderful women.”
There is no age restriction for audiences this month.
