Bach Musica NZ welcomes new concertmaster for 2018!

Bach Musica NZ commences their 2018 concert series with a colourful selection of Baroque classics in the beautiful setting of St Matthew-in-the City on Sunday, 18 March at 5pm.

The program includes much-loved works such as Bach’s Brandenburg Concert No 3 and Durante’s popular Magnificat. With Easter approaching, Bach’s Cantata BWV 4 ‘Christ lag in Todesbanden’ and his stunning Violin Concerto in A minor will set the tone for a perfect opening for the orchestra’s 41st concert series.

Bach Musica NZ is delighted to welcome Yanghe Yu as their violin soloist and 2018 concertmaster. Three of the vocal soloists are NZ’s next gen stars: prize-winning soprano Fiona Tibbles, alto Dilys Fong and bass Ben Kubiak. They will be joined by experienced tenor and Bach specialist Iain Tetley.

This eclectic collection of works by two of the greatest composers of their time performed by some of New Zealand’s finest soloists and the highly acclaimed ensemble Bach Musica NZ under conductor and Music Director Rita Paczian promises a night not to be missed.
