Full Comedy Fest line-up announced and on pre-sale Wednesday 28 February at midday.
This April and May the 2018 NZ International Comedy Festival with Best Foods Mayo, hits Auckland and Wellington with one of the tastiest comedy line-ups of its 26-year-old history!
Over 120 shows in 25 venues across two cities with comedians representing over 14 countries!
It all launches with a delicious feast of fast-paced comedy showcasing what’s hot this Festival at the Best Foods Comedy Galas in Auckland (26 April) and Wellington (29 April), hosted by the irrepressible Arj Barker (USA).
Amidst the smorgasbord of hot international, local and emerging acts, the Fest also plays host to some special events, including Inner Dialogue, a line-up show of NZ entertainers sharing stories around their own encounters with mental health, hosted by I Am Hope ambassador Mike King.
The Fest includes a veritable feast of comedy styles, from stand-up to sketch to musical comedy, Charlie’s Stand-Up For Kids and the Class Comedians programme showcase.
Finally, Ben Hurley will host Last Laughs, serving a celebratory showcase of the best of the Festival’s awards with the Billy T and Fred Award nominees for best NZ show performing on the night, alongside special guests.
A staple of the Comedy Fest season, Billy T Jams will tease the full length shows of some of our brightest rising stars, with nominees Two Hearts, Alice Snedden, James Malcolm, Donna Brookbanks, and Melanie Bracewell performing at Q Theatre in Auckland on Friday 2 March, hosted by former Billy T and Fred Award winner Rhys Matthewson, and including a set from 2017 winner Angella Dravid.
The 2018 NZ International Comedy Festival with Best Foods Mayo will run from 26 April – 20 May. The full programme will be available online on Thursday 1 March, but if you want to get in early, sign up for the Best Foods presale on Wednesday 28 February at comedyfestival.co.nz
