Kiwi favourite Married At First Sight Australia is back and better than ever - growing its audience share year-on-year. Last week, Married At First Sight Australia had an average rating of 6.1 with an average share of 20.3% amongst 25-54s - up from a 5.5 rating and 17.3% share for the same time last year. The show also won its timeslot on Tuesday evening with a 6.0 rating and 21% share amongst 25-54s, and again on Sunday evening where it was the number one entertainment show on TV for the night - rating a 7.1 and 23.1% share amongst 25-54s. This week we see the couples undertake their first commitment ceremony and move into their apartments.
Three’s Sunday Blockbuster, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, was a hit with audiences winning its timeslot. Free-to-air for the first time, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials achieved a 5.5 rating with a 14% share in the 25-54 demographic. This week’s Sunday Blockbuster is Snow White And The Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.
Last week, More FM’s Lana & Jase officiated the first ever Wedding at The Warehouse as Andrew and Stephanie walked up Aisle 15 to become husband and wife, and the Not So Awkward Swimming Sports crowned its first winner - Jase’s team of Ema Aitken and Fiona McDonald.
At a customer and media event in Auckland last Thursday, MediaWorks made a number of content announcements for 2018. New channel ThreeLife was announced, as well as a second season of Married At First Sight NZ, and a documentary on Stan Walker* to screen in March. Gilda Kirkpatrick and David Seymour were revealed as the first two Dancing With The Stars NZ contestants, and Camilla Sacre-Dallerup was announced as the first judge for the series. Jay-Jay Harvey is set to join More FM Drive alongside Jason Gunn in April, and Newshub announced its new political editor, Tova O’Brien, and new RadioLIVE Drive hosts, Lisa Owen and Ryan Bridge.
