CHARMIAN HUGHES PRESENTS- CHARMIAN HUGHES- BRA TREK
WRITTEN AND PERFORMED BY CHARMIAN HUGHES
DIRECTED BY JESSICA FOSTEKEW (BBC MOTHERLAND)
If a fairy godmother appears in the kitchen where you’ve been kept as an impoverished hostage for years, and grants you three wishes…do you really want to waste a wish on marriage to a stranger who found your mangy old shoe?
In her new comedy show, ‘Bra Trek’, London comedian Charmian asks - what if all fairy tales were designed just to make you ‘know your place’? Isn’t it time to Bust Out of the myth-driven stereotypes that bind us and Boldly Go in search of a true fit for our inner selves.
This is Charmian’s second fringe. In 2017 her show ‘Soixante Mirth’ which played at the Fortune Theatre, plus a run at both Auckland and NZ Fringes, got great reviews:
‘A class above other stand-ups - a great entertainer not to be missed’ Dominion Post
‘Funny and profound’ Theatreview.
Charmian is an Edinburgh and Glastonbury Festival veteran and in 2016 was nominated for both UK Comedians’ Comedian and Best Buxton Fringe Comedy.
‘Like Josie Long’s mum’ Chortle UK
‘Four Stars’ Funny Women UK
Presented as part of Dunedin Fringe Festival from 8th – 18th March 2018.
