2018 Best Foods Comedy Gala
Hosted by Comedy Fest crowd favourite Arj Barker, this year’s Best Foods Comedy Gala will launch the 2018 NZ International Comedy Festival with one hell of an illustrious night of comedy in Auckland and Wellington. Arj Barker has a special connection with New Zealand and our kiwi sense of humour, with many of us first getting to know him as Dave, in Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement’s hit HBO series Flight of the Conchords.
The Comedy Fest have lined up the best spread of talent showcasing a hilarious taster of who’s taking part in the month of Comedy Fest antics.
Auckland: Thursday 26 April, 8pm - ASB Theatre, Aotea Centre
Joining Arj Barker on stage will be 7 Days captain and Dancing With The Stars co-host Dai Henwood, Aussie favourite Heath Franklin’s Chopper, Irish comedy superstar Andrew Maxwell and spectacular musical comedy duo The Fan Brigade.
Wellington: Sunday 29 April, 7.30pm – The Opera House
Alongside Arj Barker in the capital, you’ll be treated to hilarious Irish satirist Andrew Maxwell, American country-music legend Wilson Dixon, razor-witted Aussie Rhys Nicholson and spectacular musical comedy duo The Fan Brigade.
More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Best Foods Comedy Galas will be fast-paced events celebrating some of the world’s hottest gags and comedy stars. A rare opportunity to see so much talent in one room, we reckon this mouth-watering line-up should not to be missed.
Proceeds from this show will be invested by the New Zealand Comedy Trust into supporting the growth of our comedy industry in Aotearoa.
