Central city office workers will get a
taste of the races tomorrow when the Wallaceville Estate
Wellington Cup Barrier draw returns to Midland
Park.

proceedings to begin at
12.15pm

Wellington
Hosted by TAB Media Man Mark Stafford,
several Blackcaps including Tim Southee, Matt Henry and Tom
Latham will play starring roles, revealing the barriers for
each of the 18 horses in one of New Zealand’s most
prestigious races.
A squad of Blackcaps will be
attending Cup Day and help judge the fashion stakes while
Captain Kane Williamson will present the Wellington Cup to
the winning trainer.
Wellingtonians will also get the
chance to win tickets to the Blackcaps v Pakistan ODI at the
Basin Reserve on Friday plus signed Blackcaps shirts and a
bat.
“The Blackcaps are on fire at the moment, bring
the kids down for some free entertainment, a free feed and
the chance to meet their cricketing heroes and win some
great prizes,” says Wellington Racing Club CEO Alasdair
Robertson.
Models will showcase the latest trends in
racewear with stylist Sally-Ann Moffat giving a 101 on what
to wear to this Saturday.
The first 500 attendees
will receive a complimentary taste of Cup Day canapes
courtesy of Sarah Searancke Catering and Wellington Racing
Club.
“We’re very excited to bring the Wellington
Cup barrier draw back to Midland Park. It’s a chance for
those in the city to get a feel of the racing village vibe
that will be at Wellington Races on Saturday,” says
Robertson.
Wellington’s biggest summer party,
Wellington Cup Day draws an impeccably dressed crowd to
Trentham Racecourse for a day of incredible racing, fashion,
and an unmatched party atmosphere - there’s no party like
it!
The 2018 edition is bigger and better than ever
with all Cup Day punters able to see Australia’s Sneaky
Sound System live in concert after the last race. Tickets
