61st SBS Bank Tour of Southland

61st SBS Bank Tour of Southland

The 61st edition of the SBS Bank Tour of Southland gets underway in Invercargill from October 29 to November 4, 2017.

Since 1956 the southern cycle race has forged a reputation as New Zealand's premier stage race and one of the toughest sporting events on the calendar.

I will be handling media enquiries during this year's race, so feel free to make contact if I can be of any assistance.

We will look to release some preview material over the next two weeks, including a main preview before October 25.

Live text commentary will be available throughout on the SBS Bank Tour of Southland website, while regular updates will be available on the tour's Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram.

We are also planning to provide short video highlights for general use via Dropbox. Please contact me directly for more details about that.

A daily wrap of approximately 500 words, with photos for editorial use and brief results, will be made available as soon as possible after the stage ends, along with audio where practicable.

If you have any further media requests, or are planning on being on tour but haven't been in touch regarding details, please let me know.

If you do not wish to be included in this broadcast email, or there is someone from your organisation who should be included, then get in touch.

New Zealand's best cyclists - riders like Hayden Roulston, Jack Bauer and George Bennett - have used the Tour of Southland as the springboard to riding the Grand Tours of Europe, who will be the next rising star to ride their way into history?
