Celebrant Group Announce First Free Wedding @ Auckland Pride

Celebrant Group Announce the First Free Wedding at Auckland Pride Parade

A nationwide network of celebrants, the Glitter Squad, has launched a competition for a couple to get married at the 2018 Auckland Pride Parade - on a float in front of thousands. The wedding will be the first of its kind in New Zealand and will take place on February 17th on Auckland's Ponsonby Road.

In 2017 members of the Glitter Squad walked in the parade as the first group of celebrants actively taking part. In 2018 they plan to step it up by inviting couples to apply to win a wedding that would happen along the parade route ending at Western Park. This carnival of diversity and personal expression is the culmination of the Auckland Pride Festival and features over 50 entries with hundreds of participants.

The prize includes full photography and videography, flowers, styling, accommodation in Auckland City, dinner afterwards; and of course a free celebrant and ceremony from one of the Glitter Squad.

Partners include -

Photography - Stories by Bianca

Videography - Wild Souls

Flowers - Ruby Rose

Dinner - Miss Moonshines
