Love Me Tinder is a comedy musical for anyone with a smart phone and an open heart. Offering a hilarious perspective on the path of love in the age of Tinder, this show returns to the bar Freida Margolis on October 29th and 30th, then plays The Classic Comedy Bar on Queen St from 2nd – 4th November.
Following a sell-out at the Auckland Live’s International Cabaret Season last year, Love Me Tinder has been rewritten and developed to include all original songs, including the suave seductive lyrics of local rap sensation Melvin Bailey AKA Kloos.
Love Me Tinder is the story of Zoe and Daren who meet on the ubiquitous dating site. They are compatible in so many ways, but the very app that has brought them together offers on-going temptations that threaten to tear them apart. This is the show that lets the audience witness at close hand the train wreck of a Tinder date going disastrously off the rails!
"If you want your life to be a cabaret then create one of your own. Thanks to technology and social media, we live in a world of never-ending novelty. Don't like the film you're watching or the song you're playing? Click yourself another. Don't like your friends? Unlike them on Facebook, ghost them into oblivion and get 1000 more. Don't like your partner? Download the app and find someone hunkier/slimmer/older/younger/more intelligent/more compatible.
"It's an endless variety show for a
world with a short concentration span - especially when it
comes to relationships. Swipe right and embrace the brave
new world of Tinder!"
Stephen Sinclair.
