A Family Planning Film Fundraiser: Girl Rising
Family Planning is hosting a film screening of Girl Rising to raise awareness of the impact of education on girls’ and women’s health and lives.
It will be held on Tuesday 10 October, the day before International Day of the Girl Child.
The movie tells the stories of nine girls from nine countries: (Sierra Leone, Haiti, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Peru, Egypt, Nepal, India and Cambodia).
Their stories reflect their struggles to overcome societal or cultural barriers to education.
Proceeds from the event will help support Family Planning to provide young people with better access to services and information.
