"A show not to be missed!"
The award-winning Modern Māori Quartet are a good looking, suave contemporary Māori showband in the vein of forebears such as the Hi-Marks and The Howard Morrison Quartet.
The 90-minute long 'That's Us!' show highlights the Quartet's voices in epic harmony as they share Māori traditions and tell New Zealand stories through original waiata and garage party favourites with humour, charm and class. The showband's warm personalities and interactive banter win over their audiences who are made to feel as though they are part of the intimate garage party.
The showband are accompanied by some of New Zealand's best musicians including Dixon Nacey (Guitar), Chris O'Connor (Drums), Thabani Gapara (Saxophone), Andy Cochrane (Keyboard). Supporting them on the national tour is the legendary singer and songwriter and award winning Annie Crummer who says: "I've been waiting four years for the call, they are my favourite nephews and hardcase uncles wrapped into one and I'm chuffed to be a part of the tour"
MMQ’s live shows are a skilful mix of humour and harmonies. Like their forebears, these boys effortlessly charm their audience, delivering the feel-good factor in abundance. They will take you on a journey that will warm your heart and make you cry with laughter.
"Best described as the Maori Ratpack, their set spans sixty or so years, offering everything from soul classics to original compositions. But the glue that really holds this show together is the warm rapport they share with the audience" - The Wee Review 5 stars
