SWIDT and EMG link up on New EP ‘Over-Wait’

What happens when the kings of NZ underground Hip Hop link up with one of SWIDT’s defining producers?
This happens… ‘Over-Wait’ is the latest offering from the iconic Auckland hip hop group EMG, featuring rappers Chubby Fly and King Tay. Written as a motivational self-help tape, this EP sets itself apart from the majority of hip hop releases caught up in negative content.
Pursuing a music career in New Zealand is not without challenges and setbacks, especially in the Hip Hop world. Both Chubby Fly and King Tay have learnt from their own respective journeys and in this release they pass on their revelations and new found knowledge to the next generation of artists.
The E.P. was produced by Boomer Tha God, in-house producer for award-winning rap group SWIDT. Never before have such positive, content driven raps been mixed so fluidly with such street-friendly production. Each song in the EP has a different lesson to teach, taking the listener on an uplifting journey from overcoming insanity, to finding motivation and developing an understanding of how to commit to goals.
This EP does not come off as preachy as it is as cleanly packaged as any other Hip Hop mixtape or project would be, with heavy production, slapping kicks, low subs and catchy hooks. There is a lot more to Chubby Fly and Kick Tay’s latest offering that meets the eye…
