Do the right thing and clean up Okahu and Mission Bay!

Keep New Zealand Beautiful and SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s set to do the right thing and clean up Okahu and Mission Bay!

Keep New Zealand Beautiful (KNZB) Clean Up Week is now officially live! Our first few events took place over the weekend and we have almost 600 events taking place by Sunday.

As a part of Clean Up Week, KNZB have partnered with SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s to clean up Okahu and Mission Bay. Being so near to the Underwater World, these beaches are close to their heart and we’re keen to see them litter free and beautiful.

SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s work closely with SEA LIFE Trust who are dedicated to protecting and preserving New Zealand’s unique aquatic habitats and the animals that live in them. An integral part of this is keeping our beaches clean and litter free, to prevent these habitats being damaged and our animals being harmed from unnecessary litter that ends up in our seas.

The clean ups are taking place this Saturday 16th September (Okahu Bay) and Sunday 17th September (Mission Bay), both from 12-2pm. All rubbish bags, recycling bags and gloves will be provided. They’re open for anyone to attend and do their part. To say thanks, SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s will put on a free sausage sizzle and you’ll get free entry, that day, to the aquarium to check out some of the awesome sea life you’re helping keep safe.

You can find the full event details on our Facebook page here.

Do the right thing. Put your litter in the bin and Keep New Zealand Beautiful.
